People | Education or TV? : thumbs : portfolio : about : home :
PREVIOUS | CURRENT | NEXT

I was on the opposite side of the road when I saw this. As soon as all the cars passed, I ran across and took a few shots. The irony in this photo is jaw dropping. On the top we have satellite TV coming to India, while in the bottom we see another Indian just trying to get an education. A basic education let me add. Just makes you think, would we rather have an educated population, or Satellite TV? Surely the government knows which one it's going to spend on.

as a street shot, i think its perfect, well composed, good subject etc etc...

as for the message, its little flawed because the govt doesnt spend anything on tv at all (except for dd-1, but when was the last time u saw that?)..in fact, they tax satellite providers pretty heftily...

I completely agree with Sam here...good photo but flawed message.

The Government does not spend money on TV, and if it does, it makes sure it gets it all back from us. CAS is good, believe it or not, it will save our money in the long run...your cable guy won't be pleased though...

I thought that it was a private entity...not a government entity? Maybe I am wrong...on the other hand...wouldn't bringing in new technologies and corporations also bring in more enterprise and jobs?

I know here there is growing competition in the area of TV, and internet services.

Great shot at any rate. Nicely composed.

Did I congratulate you yet? It's getting confusing keeping track with all these great blogs getting in. Quite a few I'd been tracking already and that I really hoped would make it – like you. So, yeah, congratulations. Man, I'm almost as excited as last round, he he.

Your thoughts are exactly what I was thinking Azhar. More Americans have TVs in their homes than can read. You really have to wonder about priorities. Great shot, nice work!!

Congrats on the 9rules entry. I've not heard of that one, I'll need to check it out more.
