Some of you will instantly recognize where this shot was taken, according to one of the first few shots of people week. For some reason I'm posting at 4 in the morning... so I'll just make this quick and get back to the books. In the shot, you might not be able to see her face that well, but I kind of like that.

Personally, I'm afraid of black and white, knowing it is a craft in itself. You did wonderfully well on this one, though. A critic might stumble over the face, but if you like it, it's your choice. I like it too, so there. I'm especially taken in with that car's shadow on the right. If it hadn't been there, you'd have to park it there yourself it's so good. Stroke of genius! One thing, though, do you shoot these in B/W or do you shoot colour images that you then turn into B/W? I can imagine the difference would be considerable – at least to the trained eye looking at a print...

I love this composition, I think I might have included her feet, maybe. A little fill flash would have brought out her face. She has such a sweet face and yet such a sad expression.

I love your people on the street shots. I think it's where you really shine. You do so much more than a portrait or a snapshot. You manage to capture so much emotion and you can spot it well. People shots, while they may be so technically well done, often don't engage the viewer because they don't make a connection or leave an impact other than "it's beautiful and she/he looks wonderful etc." but your shots make me want to know what is going on with the people in the shots, makes me want to know their stories.

It's early and I didn't sleep well so I hope my rambling makes some sort of sense.

Ah, good!! Back on the streets taking people pictures. Those are my favorites of all you do. The rim of light around her hair makes up for the shadowed face.

Outstanding! 9.5/10 if the feet were showing. 8.75 otherwise...

Excellent. I do agree about the feet, but that's really minor. I like the glow; no worries about the face being dark. Nicely done. This has a fine art quality to it that I find really appealing. Cheers, Brent
